Our Story...

My name is Carol and I am the founder of MindforYou. My Mum was diagnosed with vascular dementia and Alzheimers in 2007. As a family, we spent lots of time together, with Mum and Dad spending as much time as they could with their grandchildren, Emma and Ben, and a diagnosis of dementia wasn’t going to change this.

At the start, regular visits from Scotland to our home in Leicestershire gave Dad a well earned break and Mum a change of scene. Traditional respite did not suit my parents, and visits to Leicestershire became a thing of the past, so we rented cottages in Northumberland.

This is when I had the idea for MindforYou, and I started to change my focus from a Pharmaceutical Scientist to supporting families living with dementia....
